The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires every juvenile between the ages of three and 21 who has a disability be provided with a free appropriate public education (FAPE). All eligible juveniles, including those incarcerated or involved with the juvenile justice system, are entitled to be provided with educational services tailored to their specific academic needs.
